THE ROSS SMITH FLIGHT
ENGLAND TO AUSTRALIA
To-night in the Princess Theatre the flight that made the whole world ring with admiration for the intrepid pioneers of the air, Sir Ross and Sir Keith Smith, will be screened. Mr George Dean will tell the stirring story that accompanies the film. The wonderful series of pictures covers the whole flight from start to finish. Starting from Hounslow, England, over the Channel, through the snows of France, above the picturesque cities of Italy, Crete the deserts of Egypt and Palestine, Persia, Burma. Siam, (where a torrential storm nearly brought the flight to an abrupt termination), Malay States, Java, Sumha wa, Timor, Darwin, North Australia, over the arid plains of the AVest, the glorious Blue Mountains, tha beauties of the Sydney Harbour, which Sir Ross prcf'lai'nis the greatest sight of his life, and the remainder of the wonderful flight to tlie eventful landing among Adelaide’s cheering thousands, with the air knight himself at the joy-stick. The pictures themselves are an education and more entertaining lesson in geography could not l>e imagined than the pictured flight of 11,310 miles across half the globe, the actual flying time being 135 hours.
