COCKLESHELL IN A GALE

NEW YOFRK, November 29. The crew of the Typhoon said that twice during the 8,000 miles’ journey they were saved a front starvation only by the timely appearance of a ship. In a terrific gale off the Azores two of the crew were washed overboard. Transatlantic liners to arrive many days overdue last week. The yacht’s commander is Captain a Nutting, editor of the American publication Motor Boating. He built the yacht to demonstrate the theory that , a small boat, properly designed and skilfully handled can weather gales as well as the largest ships. Typhoon has an auxiliary Diesel engine.
