Official figures show 3,473,000 persons are unemployed throughout the United States. BRAZIL AND LEAGUE. (Received This Day at 8.30 a.m.) NEW YORK, January 25. The Brazilian Minister informed the State Department that Brazil was in thorough accord with the views and policies indicated in President Wilson’s Note to the League of Nations (cabled on 22nd. January). Brazil was the first Power to respond to Wilson’s appeal.

Members of the Senate’ Foreign Relations Committee are excited over Mr Davis’s testimony to-day concerning Japan’s refusal to give up exclusive control of the German cables landing at Yap. Some of them indicate their belief "that Japan is not acting in good faith, and that something must be'done to bring her to account. The testimoney failed to disclose that Wilson’s reservations at the Peace Conference regarding Japan’s mandate Yap were put in writing. Although the records show the reservations were discussed.
