The President of the Dominion Association (Mr T .Bush, Wellington) made a brief opening speech at the headquarters (Wellington Club’s pavilion), and the Mayor of Wellington (Mr J. P. Luke) officially declared the tournament open. Mrs C. a daughter-in-law of the president, threw the jack.

The largest tournament in the history of Australian howling was opened today and will he continued for three weeks. It is the eighth annual championship of the Dominion howling association.
