AVSTIIAMAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION. TENNIS AT HOME. LONDON, Jan. 4. The International Tennis Final of the men’s singles resulted: Brugiion (Franee) heat Beamish (Britain) 6—l, 5—7, 6—3, 6 —o. In the Doubles, Brugnon and Du Font (France.) heat Beamish and Watt (Britain), 6—4, 4—6, 6—4, 6—4. In the ladies singles, Mistress Beamish (Britain) heat Aladamoiscdle Conqut (France). In the doubles Madame Conquet and Madame Danet (France) heat Mesdames and Golding Vnusard. ' AUCKLAND, Jan 5. The N.Z. team to piny thy N.E.W. tennis team is as follows: Dr J. T. Laurensbn (Reniiiora), E. L. Bartlett (Eden and Epsom), Dr I*. E. Allison (Tlionidon, AVellington), J. J. Aitken (United Ch. Ch.), H. T>. Robson (Remuera), E. S. AVilding (United Ch. Ch.)
The N.S.AV. team is: N. Peach, M. H. Marsh, Dr N. Gregg, S. H. Henderson, 11. S. Walt, and F. Peach. The New Zealand tennis championship tourney continued to-day. The most intereseting game of the day was that between O’Hara Wood (Victoria) and Marsh (N.S.AV.). After a sparkling game O’Hara AVood won the sot 10-8, 8-0, 0-2. Laureiisoii (Auckland) showed good form in a match with AVashburii (America), the .yack American player having to got to the fuuith set to heat the local man which he did 0-1 10-8, 9-11, 0-1. The match thus ran into 57 games. The other overseas players easily disposed of the local men as follows: Tihlen and Johnston beat Laurenson and Griffiths, 0-0, 8-0, 0-3. Brooks and Patterson beat Robinson and Page 0-1, 0-2, 6-2. In tho finals to-morrow the Davis Cup rivals will meet to decide the New Zealand championship.
