Six policemen were seriously injured in an ambush in a badly lighted street in Cork city on Tuesday night. The attackers used rifles, revolvers and machine guns. Police fire wounded fire civilians.

An official message states sixteen attackers were killed in an ambush at Weelin and Kanturlc in Comity Cork. The remainder of the attackers, also all guns and ammunition were captured. There were military casualties.
