At ten o’clock this morning lona motor bus, running between Hastings Clive, and Grange, carrying fourteen women and children plunged its living freight into-the river below. By a miracle all were saved except Mrs William Hesketb, who was pinned in the bottom of the river under the bus. Her body was recovered two hours later. The bus sank in ten feet of water and entirely submerged the occupants at first. It was a pitiable scene,t the women looking for the children and children for parents. Some Brave rescues weire effected. Edna Hart aged 11 years brought no less than four children to the shore. The little daughter of Ninian Hvslop of the Bank of N.S.W. had a narrow escape. She was rescued unconscious but respiration restored her eventually. Apart from cuts bruises and shock, the others were uninjured. The cause of the accident is a mystery. The driver, George Tucker, was an expert motorman.
