NILSSON—L AUG HTON

A pretty wedding was celebrated at St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Hokitika, on Thursday afternoon last by the Rev P. B. Eraser M.A., when Mr George Nilsson of Moana was united to Catherine, youngest daughter of Mrs A. Laughton of Gibson Quay. The bride, who was given away by her eldest brother (Mr James Laughtoni looked charming in a pretty white fuji silk costume with hat to match, and carried a pretty-bouquet. Miss Gladys I'ooto was the bridesmaid, and wore a vieux rose, crepe de chine dress and hat to match, and also carried a pretty bouquet. Mr Magnus Laughton (brother of the bride) was best man. After the ceremony the guests were entertained at a reception at the residence of the bride’s mother.' The bridegroom’s present to the bride was a handsome gold pendant set with pearls, and to the bridesmaid a gold brooch set with pearls. The bride’s present to the bridegroom was a gold watch and chain. The happy couple who were the recipients of a large number of valuable presents, left by. motor ear later in the afternoon for Otira en route to Christchurch, where the honeymoon is being spent, the bride’s going away frock being a fawn gabardine costume and hat to°mnte!i. In the evening the members of the Caledonian Pipe H«nd serenaded at the residence of the bride’s motliei, and subsequently with other iriemls were entertained during the evening.
