OBITUARY.

AUCKLAND, Dec 28. The death occurred to-day of Mr C. R Button, aged 82 years. Deceased was formerly of the legal firm of Buddie, Button and Company, and was at one time temporary Supreme Court Judge. Ho represented Hokitika in Parliament many yeors > and later he represented Auckland City. HEAT WAVE. GISBORNE, December 28. Gisborne for the last three days has been experiencing a heat wave. The highest reading in shade oil Sunday was 96 and on Monday the highest reading was 96.
