POLLARD’S PICTURES. TO-NIGHT. •'Pollards will screen to-night Confitjjnce Talmadge in the Select Pictures, sparkling comedy “Marriage A La Mode,” a picture just as rich, rare, and racy, as we have grown to expect from cute little Connie who knows better than she how to give delicious spasms wihont leaving us permanently shocked ? It’s a breezy, rollicking comedy of love and happiness, mostly happiness, that will make you. laugh till the dimples catch the tears—and it sheds quite a lot of light on the divorce question. As refreshing as a. gust from the sea is Constance Talmadge in her late Select release, “Happiness a la. Mode’.’, a comedy of love and happiness, mostly happiness. Connie trusted her hubby so much that he thought she couldn’t love him; and when he. wanted to get a divorce she let him have it though she knew he loved her and she loved ■him. She did that tamely enough hut' when she got to look at the vamp who had cut her out, it put her on her mettle" and she beat the vamp at her own game. Connie’s smile will enpti vate you—its contagious—and her leading man is Harrison Ford. On. Wednesday next Taylor Holmes will be. featured in “A Pair of Sixes” and on Thursday next, Alice Brady will appear in a big World success entitled “Woman and Wife” supported by the first episode of the new sensational serial “Smashing Barriers” starring William Duncan and a powerful cast.
