WESTLAND MUNCH. A meeting of the above Association was held oil Saturday, the lltli, at 8 p.m. There wore present—Mr G. Davidson (chairman), Messrs Ford, Simpson, Seale and Perham (Secretary).
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed and a- largo quantity of Inward and outward correspondence dealt with. Tlio Secretary was instructed to write the Borough Council requesting that improvements bo made to the borough roads generally as. most of them arc in want of repair. It was the opinion of the meeting that good loads ought to be one of the main planks in any Borough’s platform or policy and that the roads in the Borough are not in keeping with the place especially in view of the fact tfiTit good ' road material should he easily obtainable, and that there is practically no drawbacks or hindrance to have good roads. A letter from the County Council asking for a, contribution towards improving Kanicri road, this side of Morris Hill, .yas discussed and it was decided to make a small contribution to the work, also to point out to thq Council that the improvements_ should not cost very much in this case, as a lot of debris being removed Trom the top of the Hill could be deposited on this side tp make the road wider, where the improvement is desired. The Canterbury Association letter was received notifying that they were quite agreeable and prepared to support the local bodies here in getting improvements to Lake Kanieri road and were taking immediate steps to do all they could in the matter.' Two new members were proposed, Afr R. E. ; Cranston and Dr B. Baird, and were duly elected, and after matters of various importance were dealt with, the meeting tej'nripated at 9.30.
