(Per Press Association.) WOODVILLE RACES. WOODVILLE, December 9. The Summer Meeting of the Woodville Jockey Club opened yesterday in fine weather, the attendance being very large. The tote handled the sum of 31,312, compared with 24,427 on the opening day last year. Following are the results:—, Hack Hurdles, 1J miles—O’Rnne 1, Pawerowere 2, Old Gold 3. Scr. Persian Prince, Whizz Bank, and Buckeye. Won by a head. Time 3.31 1-5. Trial Plate—Larkspur 1, Sandy Macdonald 2, Lord Ashlea 3. Won by two lengths. Time 1-19 3-5. Oete Handicap—Dunedin 1, Bonny Briar 2, Sweet Memory 3. Won by a length and a half. Time 1.17. Nursery Handicap, 5 furlongs—Tommy Rot 1, Princess Pat. 2, Dissertation 3. Won by half a length. Time 15. 'Woodville Handicap—Sunarfc 1, Espcrance 2, Marqueteur 3. ‘ Won by four lengths. Time 2.12 2-5. Flying Handicap—-Namur 2, Kikini 2, Blackhead 3. Won by a length and a half. Time 1.17 4-5. Borough Welter—Hymarty 1, Sir Fanciful 2, Matatun 3. Won by three lengths. Time 1.31. Welter Hack Handicap—Admiration 1, Ponte 2 Ohiti 3.
