(PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.--pOPVBIOHT.i THE NEW LOAN. WELLINGTON, Dec. 7 The Prime Minister said to-day that reference had been made in some newspapers to the sales of the new loan stock at prices below the issue value of the loan. These transactions were all known to the Treasury, and he hoped, in a few days, to publish the amounts involved. Ho could not, of course, divulge the names of the persons concerned. It would be found, however, that the amount of the sales was quite trifling compared with the amount of the loan.

An interesting feature of the loan flotation, which had been reported to him by the Treasury,, was tne large number of men of comparatively small means who were taking an interest in the loan.
