TEST TEAM CRITICS. (Received This Day at 8.40 a.m.) SDDNEY, Dec. 10. The “Herald” states the test team should meet with general approval. If is a thoroughly representative sidS and appears adequately equipped in all departments. The batting strength contains bountiful promise of plenty of runs. In bowling the team is much less formidable on paper, but it may involve some welcome surprises on hArd, true wickets. The “Telegraph” says the team should meet with general approval. Ten of the players are capable of a century at any time. First class cricket in Australia has probably never had a finer fielding combination. Only the bowling shows a weakness, but it includes the best available talept.
A CRICKET POINT; SYDNEY, December 10. Xlie abandonment of the New South Wales, versus South Australia match is without precedent, and is causing speculation .respecting the disposition of points. The Sheffield Shield rules say the matches must be played out, but according to the Marylebone Club, the game was drawn. A round table conference between New South Wales, South Australia and Victoria will probably decide the matter.
