PUKEKAWA MURDER
THORN SENTENCED TO DEATH. (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, December 3. The trial of Samuel John Thorn, of Pukekawa, for murder, was concluded to-night. The Jury retired at 4.25 p.m. and returned at 8.30 p.m. with a verdict of guilty. Addressing the prisoner, the Judge said tlie evidence proved ]?is guilt. This was His Honor’s firm conviction. The Judge then pronounced the death sentence, and the prisoner, who had remained calm throughout, turned and left the dock.
