SYDNEY, Dec. 3.
Johnson giving evidence before the Graft Enquiry said Talbot assisted him financially in election campaigns. He acknowledged receiving five hundred pounds from Talbot for personal election expenses, but denied any compact or arrangements, as suggested, with regard to other members of the party.

In connection with the shipping trouble, the marine engineers, (who consider some of the seamen’s demands unreasonable), decided that discipline amongst seamen must be maintained on vessels, CABLE ITEMS.
