CARTERTON MURDER

CARTERTON, Dec 2. i At the Magistrate’s Court to-day, be--1 fore Magistrate Free, Frederick Thompson was charged with the murder of Anthony Rjoska. i Mr MaCassey, Crown Prosecutor, appeared for the Crewn. The accused was defended by Mr A- F. Hogg. The evidence throughout was similar to that given at the cororiial inquiry yesterday, additional evidence being given by William Henry Douglas, (Wei fington), William H.enry Spicer, and Ernest Albert Spicer. Constable Millpr gave additional evidence that the accused had been drinking heavily. He was arrested the first time on Nov. 6tli for drunkenness. 4 At the close of the evidence, Mr Hogg, for the accused, entered a plea of ‘Not guilty,® and reserved his defence. The accused was committed for trial . at Wellington Supreme Court in February next.
