PUKEKAWA MURDER

(Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Dec 1. The second trial of Samuel John Thorn, charged with committing the Pukekawa murder ,was continued today, when further evidence on the lines of that given at the previous trial was heard.

Some discussion ensued on the request of counsel for the accused for an experiment to show what result would follow from the firing of No 7 Peters cartridges from the accused’s gun. It was pointed out that the atmosphere arid other conditions would not be the same as on the night of the tragedy. - Eventually the judge, said that, later on if the jury wished it they could ask for an expCririieht. The case was adjourned.
