(From a Correspondent). j A meeting of the Waiho Charitable | Aid Committee was held on November 20th, 1920. Present :* —Messrs James Green (chairman), C. Donovan, T. Con- | don, G. Searle, L. Gibb, E. Gibb, T. Watson, John Donovan, J. Graham, C. Gibb, J. Schilling. The minutes and correspondence were read and confirmed. The Secretary explained that Sister Baker, the new district nurse, has arrived, and is staying at Waiho. Everything possible has been done to assist her. The question re 4 acres of land to be bought to erect a nurse’s .'cottage on was discussed. It was decided : As we have collected the £2OO with the understanding that the cottage was to be erected south of Waiho river, we have to see that we get the proposed of ground. The Secretary was instructed to lay the matter before Hon C. J. Parr, C.M.G., Minister in Charge -of Hospi- | tals and Charitable Aid Departments. To write to Mr T. E. Y. Seddon to explain matters to Minister. To write to Westland Charitable Aid Board explaining again that the proposed site is on a cattle resting reserve | and that a title should be easily got. I To write to Bruce Bay and Okura Committees asking them if we can se--1 lect a piece of ground north of Waiho ! r iver if we cannot get present seleci idon. . ~ ... To write to Westland Charitable Aid | Board to see that the telephone is put into Donovan’s cottage and that Sister Baker should be connected through to Ross after 5 p.m. in case a doctor is wanted. A vote of thanks to the Secretary closed the meeting.
