The Sinn Fein sympathisers here attacked the Union Club in Fifth Avenue where the B.ritish flag was flying. The windows were shotted by stones. A number of the demonstrators were injured in a fight with the police. No arrests were made. WASHINGTON, Nov 25.
A formal Irish plea for America’s re.' cognition of Irish independence, signed bp President De Valera, lias been sent to President Wilson, who has forwarded it to the U.S. State Department today. The document is very lengthy. It will not be made public. Official circles do not consider it probable that the U.S. Government will reply lest Britain might consider any pronouncement thereupon, as a gratuitous invasion into British domestic affairs.
