In the Australasian final? in the bantam pjass—Bell (N.S.W.) 7.7 defeated Madd.Qt'ks (N.Z.) 84 pp points. Tho

first 2 rounds were even. Bell won

the third round by farcing tactics. In the fourth round Maddoeks repeatedly jabbed his left to the face and won tile round. The Judges disagreed with the referee and awarded the decision to Bell. Many .disagreed with the decision.

In the feather >veight Stanley (Queensland) 8.13 defeated Cann (Victoria) 9.9. Lightweight—Morgan (Queensland) 9.7, defeated Desmond (N.Z.) 9.5. The Judges disagreed and ordered another round. Morgan connected the right to

the jaw and Desipond had enough pluck only in the two first rounds which were even. Desmond won the next by

good lefts and Morgan used an effective right. Next round was a fast and even fight. Welterweight—Gilshennon (Queensland)' 10.3, defeated Hungerford (Queensland) 9.11$ on points. Middleweight—Findlay (New South Wales) 10.10 defeated Coll (Queensland) 10.2$ on points. Heavy weight—McLeary (N.Z.) 11.9$ (defeated Lang (New South Wales) 12.95. The decision was never in doubt. McLeary outboxed and outfought his opponent in every round. DUNEDIN Nov 25. The 15-round professional contest between Havilah Ur.en (9.6) and ‘Digger’ Evans (9.3) \yps fought in His Majesty’s Theatre to-night, before a very largo attendance, for a purse of £2BO. The fight went the full distapcp, each man showed cleverness. Uren had the advantage of infighting but Evans evened matters with-his tricky footwork. The points were evenly divided but the referee’s decision in favour of Evans was a popular one.
