RUSSIAN MIX-UP.
(United Service Telegrams). WRANGEL'S DISASTER, CONSTANTINOPLE. Nov 18, A Captain in the Coldsteam Guards, who, became Lieut.-Colonel in Wtangel’s Army, tells a terrible story of the retreat of his-corps in the thick final fighting. He lost seventy-five per cent, of his effectives in constant rearguard actions. The Bolsheviks success was duo to overwhelming strength of the cavalry which broke through the lines. Tho retreat was conducted in heavy snow falls and bitter frost through which Wraugel’s forces struggled without blankets and practically foodless. A pitiful sight was the dying soldiers leaning on their rifles waiting for the snow to swallow them up and also form a winding sheet. Dead horses everywhere marked the retreat.
