The Allies never gave him a penny of the £20,000 they spoke of when he abdicated, nor did he ask for any of it. The Crown Prince was not anxious to become King under the terms offered his brother Paul. If he, (Constantine) returned, Greek policy would remain as now. He would fight the Turks for Smyrna, given Greece by tlie Allies. He believed it suited Britain and Greece to be Allies. He would ■ only return if a plebiscite recalled him. M. Ballio, the new Premier says no change of policy is intended. • The soldiers are alleged to have favoured Venizelos. He says he is not a tyrant as ho has resigned,
