(JqluiAs Church to-night. The Rev. J. A. Asher (Napier), retiring Moderator presided and preached a short sermon. The clerk "j----timated that there was a roll strength of 345, comprising 139 ministers and 105 elders. The retiring Moderator installed the Moderator elect, Rev, S, W, Currie (Balclutha), who delivered ,au inaugural address. The clerk produced a return of ministerial changes during the year which showed there had been fifteen ordinations, twenty-nine inductions, six resignations and four deaths. After the transaction of formal business the Assembly adjourned till to-morrow morning. SIR T. MACKENZIE. WELLINGTON, November 6 Sir Thomas Mackenzie, ex-High-Commissioner for New Zealand reached Wellington aboard the Remuera to-day. He and the other passengers did not get ashore until eight o’clock.' After retiring from the High Commissionership, Sir Thomas accepted a trade mission to the United States on behalf of the New Zealand Government and he has a report to present to the Government. In the course of a brief conversation toriiight, Sir T. Mackenzie, who has just returnee], indicated that he woujd have something to say shortly regarding New Zealand produce and other matters of interest to the people of this country. It was too early lo speak of his own plans. He expected to be in Wellington for a few days and then he would go south. THE BONUS DISCUSSION. WELLINGTON, Nov. 1(5. The Arbitration Court has been asked to permit a general discussion of the new cost of living bonus at a special sitting of the Court in Wellington on November 29. J The Court in announcing, at Christchurch, its intention to grant an addi- : tional bonus of 9s per week, indicated that it was prepared to hear argument on the proposal. Mr M. J'. Reardon, who will appear for the various unions affiliated to trades and labour council, has discussed the matter with Mr W. Pryor (Secretary of the New Zealand Employer* Federation). The representatives of the parties agreed to ask the Court to consider an amendment of the award in any one industry. It is likely that the judge will consent to this course,
