Violent differences of opinion exist between the section of the miners who favour accepting the Government terms and those who are opposed to them. :-i The feeling is very strong indeed in South Wales. One executive member there, Hartshorn, who is in favour of accepting the terms tendered his re- ; . signation from the Miners’ Federation owing to the opponents of acceptance criticising the action of the leaders w'ho arc for an immediate agreement. Later, however, Hartshorn withdrew his resignation. *>• The leaders who are classed as mod- , crate, are busy emphasising that the ,3 strike funds w'ould be exhausted if the men vote in favour of a strike... The first ballots indicate that tho men will agree t 0 the terms proposed for a settlement.
