ARAfiUIU FAT STOCK. SAKE. The usual fortnightly fixture at the above yards was held yesterday, the yarding comprising 79 head ol very prime cattle —all from South Westland. The general opinion was that the entries were the best finished cattle seen in the yards for a very long time past, and without exception the vendors are to be complimented on the excellent quality of their offerings, which were excellent testimonials to the southern district s capabilities. There was a moderate attendance of buyers, whose competition was restricted, no doubt, owing to the heavy fall in hides, coupled with bh ’ fact that the approach of warm weather was not conducive to the purchase cf heavy cattle. ■ Messrs W. Jeffries and Co. made the following sales:—On account Mr ■ Diedrich, 10 heavy-weight bullocks «.t £3l 10s, 2 light steers at £l3-d>s ; on account Mr H.
