POLLARD’S PICTURES. SESSUE HAYAKAWA. TO-NIOHT. , To-night Pollards will show a big'' Hayworth masterpiece starring the great Japanese actor Sessue Hayakawa assisted by his clever wife Tsuru Oaki, in “The Courageous Coward.” The story of a little Japanese beauty who wanted to become a real American girl. This powerful dramatic story tells of “Luki” a clever lawyer in America—, who became an American and the girl ■he loves who came to meet him. She wanted t 0 be like an American ladyhut falls into wrong hands. The play begins in comedy', but soon develops into a drama of thrills and romance, but -the ending is quite different to any previous Hayakawa picture in that the ending is happy. A big Larry Semon comedy entitled “His Simple Life” will also be shown. Patrons who remember the last comedy by this clever comedian will welcome his re-appearance tonight. On Wednesday next the charming child actress Madge Evans will be seen in her latest success “A Home Wanted” a big World Film Drama.

Mr McLean presents on Tuesday even ing the American beauty May Allison in “Castles in the Air.” This is a delightful comedy of refreshening and | charming simplicity in which beautiful | Map Allison displays a wide range of ! talent. She is seen as Fortuna, a i romantic little usher in a fashionable theatre. Fortuna believes that romance except in books, is all “bunk,” for, none of the excitement and love she has read of has ever come into her life. One day, however, she does meet a millionaire, but contrary to all precedent, no romance develops. Here is where truth proves stranger than fiction, for things begin to happen that seem like a fairy tale to the romantic trirl. Besides being the means of bringing lasting happiness into the hfo I of the rich man, she also finds her own 1 love story, which ,like a fairy tale of ! old ,ends in “happiness forever after. ’ Tile story is one where flashes .of bril- ( liant humor blend with stirring appeal. The third episode of “Wolves of Kultur, 99 will also be shown.
