LATE LOCALS.
The Wajhino mails connected this morning at Christchurch with the West Coast express. j Messrs M. Houston and Co. will sell by auction on Friday next at 2.30 p.m., the whole of the furniture and effects in the estate of the late Mrs Maunder, on the premises, North Revell Street. The Chief Postmaster advises that the summer timetable for the South Westland mails will come into force at the beginning of November. The mails which now leaves Ross on Saturdays, for Hari Hari, will tljen run through to Waiho Gorge arriving there on Sunday evening. The return will leave Waiho Gorge on Monday, arriving in Ross on Tuesday and the mail coming through to Hokitika on Wednesday morning. There will be no alteration to the service at present leaving Ross on Wednesday morning for Waiho Gorge and return.
