Consternation prevails among Winnipeg grain groweis <as a. result of 'he Government decision not to re-establish the Wheat Control Board, which operated during the war. Grain is not being moved, owing to the elevators in the interior being choked, and there are no buyers. Grain growers insist that Government can take over the crops an finance them until buyers want the stocks. VOTE FOR COX. (Received This Day at 8.30 a.m.) NEW YORK, Oct. 21. Importance attaches to the appeal signed,by sixty-five prominent women of all paities in the nation and led by the veteran suffrage leader,, Mrs Catt, calling upon women to vote for Mr Cox and the League of Nations. lhe appeal points out that the League is a real working organisation and that without a League another world war is inevitable. The appeal condemns Mr Harding’s attitude. COTTON MARKET FALLS. (Received This Day at 1.5. p.m.) NEW YORK, Oct. 21. The cotton market reacted to the influence of the English railwaymen s strike ultimatum. The price dropped thirty points to-day.
