Mr Arthur Barnett, a well-known Dunedin business man, who lias just returned from a trip to the Old Country, when interviewed, said large numbers of Americans were in London, staying at the best hotels but the best of feeling did not seem, to exist between them -and manufacturers in England. He found that English people would rather trade with Germany than with America. Commercial men in London were quite frank on this point. Mr Barnett himself ffin ml that the Britishers were the cleanest people to deal with, and invariably carried out their contracts.
