POLISH CAPTURE

(Received this day at 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 27. It is reported from Warsaw that the Poles have captured Grodno, taking masy prisoners and much war material. Grodno is understood to be under the protection of the League of Nations. It is pointed out that only another month’s campaigning is possible before the winter stops operations. Ahe new move is said to he preparatory to ah offensive against the Red Army concentrated in Minsk—Lida sector, as unless their destruction is achieved before the winter, these forces be used to crush General Wrangel, leaving the Bolsheviks free to attempt to overrun Poland .in the Spring.
(Received this day at 1.30 pm.) __ LONDON, Sept. 2/. A Polish communique claims they ‘ made counter-attacks against the Bolsheviks and Lithuanians on the 24tn and 25th and occupied Kopoiovn and gejey, capturing a thousand prisoners, v three batteres, twenty-six machine guns and also broke the enemy’s attack on Buzostolice, causing, them to retiea north-eastwards.
