A WHITE AUSTRALIA. MELBOURNE, Sept. 24. Senator Milieu, addressing a gather- . ing of business men, referred to his mission to the Geneva Conference. He said of many problems to be discussed, none were more vital to Australia than a White Australia policy. It is as essential to Australia, as the Monroe doctrine is to America or the freedom of the seas to Britain. We have convinced ourselves of the reasonableness and justice of that policy, and now had to convince the nations of the world. Our attitude was the right and only logical one. .We must fill Australia with white men, otherwise we would run a great risk. Other nations were endeavouring to fill Australia for us, urging the need of immigration. He declared if a White Australia had to be successfully maintained, the population must be considerably increased by men from our own kith and kin, particularly Britishers who fought in the war.
