In the Assembly, Mr Long, Treasurer introduced a Bill providing fp,r increased taxation on racecourse admission as follows Flat, two-penoe; Leger, ten-pence; saddling paddock 3s for males and Is 7d for females; season tickets forty per cent, of cost of ticket. The Bill was read a third time,
LIVING WAGE
(Received This Day at 8.40 a.m.) SYDNEY, Sept. 24. At the Board of Trade’s cost of living inquiry, the statistical officer of the Board gave evidence that the living wage in 1919-20 was 5s 9d less effective in purchasing power than living wage of, 1907.
