NELSON DEFEATS COAST. NELSON, Sept. 22. -At Rugby football, Nelson defeated the West ponst by 21 points to six. South Canterbury, was played here to-day resulting in the defeat of the visiting team by 31 points to 12. Ihe ground was in good order, but a strong wind made play somewhat difficult. In the opening spell Southland rattled on points and were able to hold their lead through. South Canterbury made strong efforts during the second spell.
