TIMARU, September 18

Francis Techmann, aged 69 years, flight watchman of Timaru harbour hoard, was found dead in hte shed at 6 a.m. to-day. He had been 26 years

E, List (“Taranaki Daily News”), H. Brett,j (“Auckland Star”), R, B. Bell (“Wel-l lington Dominion”), F. Pirani (“Feilding Star”), C. Weston (“Wellington Dominion”), F. Earle (“Wellington Post”), and M- Cohen, (“Dunedin Star”). The Press Association has appointed as delegates Mr W. H. Atack and Sir George Fenwick.

MOTORING FATALITY. NELSON, Sept 19. A motor-car containing Charles Herbert Butters, a traveller for an Auckland firm, his wife and child, fell over an embankment on Washington Road yesterday afternoon. Mrs Butters was killed but the others were unhurt. There is a steep bit of road at the scene of the aeiedept, and Butters was backing down the hill to change gear, when the brakes refused to act. Deceased who is 26 years old r -has been two years in New Zealand, coming from England. FOUL PLAY SUSPECTED. DUNEDIN, Sept, 19. The police have been advised that a Chinaman named Sue Pin ,a rabbitcr, was found dead in his hut at Blackball in the Ranfurloy District, on Saturday morning. The marks on the body are of such°a character as to arouse suspicions that the man, who lived alone in his but, has been the victim of foul play. Magistrate E. C. Levvey will hold an inquest on the body. In the meantime. Chief Detective Bishop, Detective Beer and Sergt Nelson have gone up to investigate the matter.
