KAMENEFF LEAVES ENGLAND. LONDON, S e Ptember 15. The “Evening Standard” states that the Russian envoy, M. Kameneff, has departed from London. His going it claims is due to the double dealing on the part of M. (Litvinoff, Soviet Ambassador. The “Standard” alleges- M. Litvinoff throughout had done everything possible to render ineffective the trading activities of the Kameneff Russian delegations in London. It alleges M. Litvinoff had been negotiating behind the delegates’ backs with a certain Labour organ (no doubt the "Daily Herald”) and-the British Labour leaders, creating an impression that Kameneff was interesting himself in British Labour troubles and that he was negotiating for the sale of the Russian jewels. The offer of £75,000 to the “Daily ; Herld” is alleged by the “Standard” to have been engineered largely by M. Litvinoff, and it says the Kameneff delegates were unaware of this Until it was too late. M. Kameneff’s position, it says became untenable, and he left.
