RUSSIAN MIX-UP.
<By Electric Telegraph— Co^yn^ai.) POLISH PEACE. LONDON, Sept. 12. The “Morning Post’s” Warsaw correspondent states the Polish peace representatives at Riga will be complicated owing to a divergence of French, Englsh and Italian programmes. The Polish Foreign Office states it will make the best terms possible. British authorities must abandon their devotion to the boundary cabled on 13th July, which line is impossible inasmuch as it has given all the advantages to the Bol>*. sheviks and leaves Warsaw at the mercy of sudden and unexpected a-t-tacks and dooms Poland to perpetual fighting.
A SOVIET OFFER. LONDON, Sept. 12. The “Daily Herald,” referring to the offer of. Russia to provide it with £75,000 says, it should be accepted. “This offer,” it’says, “is a magnificent demonstration of real working-class solidarity. Its acceptance would complete a magnificent episode in International Socialism.” The “Herald” further states that there are increasing costs of production, and a political shyness on the part of advertisers. These would make it necessary to double the price of the “Herald” if the offer were turned down.
„ PEACE' IN SIGHT. (Received This Day at 8.40 a.m.) LONDON, September 12. Official Warsaw messages state there has been no important incident in the Polisli-Lithunniaii • front for the past few days. With a view to hastening peace, the Polish delegation agreed to meet the Lithuanians for a preliminary conference at Marianapol before the opening of Hie Riga negotiations. The Allies are doing their utmost to assist a speedy restoration of peace and have offered their services to assist in a settlement. These will probably be accept, ed, the Allied officers acting as advisers to rival Powers. POLISH DELEGATION. LONDON, Sept. ,13. It is understood the Polish gation leaves to-day for Riga, where it is anticipated the 'Russo-Polish peace negotiations begin on Thursday. Meanwhile the prospect of a settlement of the Polish-Lithuanian dispute is grent]jy improved. Fighting censes to-day bjy mutual arrangement, if it' haß not already ceased.
