SWIMMING THE CHANNEL. (Received Tins Day at 8 a.m.) LONDON, September 5. In response to her father’s entreaties Willing left , the water after swimming thirty miles in 538 minutes, when, six miles from France. LONDON, September 3. Mistress Willington in attempting, to swim the Channel. Strong spring tides are running, otherwise the conditions are good! She is reported to be making god progress. Mrs Willing failed to swim the channel.’ She covered fifteen miles in eleven hours.
