LONDON, August 26th. The Australian swimming team, Hay, Herald, Stedman, and Kirkland qualified for the final of 800 metres relay race being second in the first heat, sixteen seconds behind America. The final will take place on Sunday, Beaurepaire, Hay, Stedman, and Herald representing Australia. Tho coldness of the water is troubling the Australians, none swimming to form. Details of the 1500 metres swim show after a false start a fight began between Vernon, Beaurepaire and Ross. That order was maintained to the sixth' lap when Ross drew level with Vernon, Beaurepaire falling back. From then on Ross drew rapidly away and at the tenth lap was a dozen yards in front of Vernon who was the same distance ahead of Beaurepaire. Ross won by 20 metres.

The men’s diving race was won by Vallman (Sweden). The second, third, and fourth places were filled by Swedes. The 400 metres breaststroke event resulted Molmath (Sweden) 1, Henning (Sweden) 2, Baltooner (Finland) 3. Time 6mTns 31 4-ssecs. The boxing contests resulted: — Flyweight—Degannaro (America). Bantam—Walker (Africa). ■ Featherweight—Fritsch (France). Lightweight—Mossberg (America). Welter—Schneider (Canada). Middle weight—-Mallin (England). Light heavy.—Eagen (America). Heavy—Rawson (England). ANTWERP, Aug. 25.

In the semi-final of the 100 metres swim, Herald’s time of 64 4-ssecs equalled Ross’s, but he was placed third, though the general opinion was that he came second. In the final, which however,' was ordered to bo re-swum, Kealoha, who filled second place, took 61 2-5 secs. In the first heat of the 1500 metres’ swim Beaurepaire (Australia) led all the way and finished 50 metres ahead of Kahere. Time 22min 55secs. Details of the semi-final of the 15C0 metres swim show the first lieat resulted:—Ross 1, Kohele 2, Bolden 3. Time 1432 2-ssees. Second heat:—Beaurepaire 1, Vernon (Canada) 2, Annison (England) 3. Time 1379 2-5. Beaurepaire led all the way. The final of the hundred metres will be re-swum on Sunday.
