(Reuter’s Telegra* WOMEN’S SUFFRAGE. NEW YORK, Aug. 19. The “New York Times” correspondent at Nashville states that Tennessee has now ratified the suffrage amendment thus • enfranchising twenty-five million women in the United States.
RUSH OF IMMIGRANTS. NEW YORK, August 19. The Department of Labour has announced that more than 5,000 immigrants are now arriving in New York every day. The Department states that approximately 700,000 immigrants have arrived in the United States for the year ending June 30th. last. The foreign steamship companies have reported to the immigration officials that all the available shipping accommodation for a year in advance has been booked by prospective immigrants.
