GRAND FETE AND SALE OF WORK.

The filial rehearsal for the fete which Mrs Staveley is organising for the 1 ba«aar at tlie Princess Theatre on Tuesday and Wednesday in aid of All Saints’ Church building fund, takes place tonight. Reports indicate that tho entertainments will be on very attractive lines, and should draw large audiences each evening the function is in progress. As intimated in Thursday’s issue, the programme is a varied one, and includes many engaging numbers. All tlie songs include bright chorus work which lend their.solve-, to pleasing movement. Some very pupa rr numbers are included, and favourite airs will be heard in quite a new setting. Tlie various items will be given in costume, and should present many a bright and interesting picture. A good deal of preparatory work has been done, which is a guarantee that an accomplished chorus party will entertain and delight the evening of the bazaar, For tlie sale of work, the. ladies of the Church are responsible. This band of workers, including also the senior girls’ and juvenile sewing guilds, have prepared a great array of goods which will be offered for sale at prices within the roae hof all. Tlie baby and dolly stall will present quite a novelty and will ho besieged no doubt by mothers and children. Plain and fancy sewing will lie displayed in great variety, while a useful produce stall is sure to be seriously depleted in the early hours of the bazaar, vegetables, home dainties, preserves etc. being difficult to provide just now. The men’s stall will ho replete with many useful articles, and should supply “a long felt want,” as the advertisements say at a bazaar. The sweets stall will he a special attraction for young and old who all have a sweet tooth. Games will be provided, and the children catered for also at tho fish pond. Finally there will be a pleasant retreat at the refreshment room, so that the bazaar promises to be well equipped in over> particular.
