LONDON, August 12. The Archbishop of Wellington, (Dr. Redwood), Perth (Dr Clune), Adelaide (Dr Spence), Hobart (Dr Barry), and the bishops of Armidalo (Dr O’G'opor), Rpckhampton (Dr ShieJ), Cookfoivn (Dr Murray), Ballarat, (Dr Foley), Sandhurst (Dr McCarthy), and Forbes "(Dr Hayden) have Issued In England a joint statement with regard to the taking of Dr Mannx off the Baltic and the restrictions placed on his movements. ’The Bishops describe Dr Mannix’s treatment as “an insult and also an indignity” to both the signatories, who are his brothers, and to the whole Catholic body in Britain and in Austraadd (hat flr Manpix is regarded in Amalia' ne a tender pf democratic thought.
