Warsaw Council of Defence has appealed to the populatiqn to clefepd the capital to the last drop pf blood. The Council declare —“The last struggle for the honour and maintenance of the Polish nation has begun.” • A mass meeting resolved to defend the city to the last, and a great patriotic procession marched the streets.

Hon Lloyd George sen|, a letter to Kamenoff acknowledging receipt of the jumpiunipatiop frpm Moscpw, annopitcing the pop-arrival fif the Polish delegates at Minsk. Hon Lloyd, George ipformed Kamenoff that he had received a message from the Polish Government that until 8 o’clock on the evening of Aug. 10th, it had not received a reply from the Soviet to its wireless message pf Apg-~ sth, consenting jo negotiate and peace preliminaries, Hon Lloyd George also states that British representatives at Warsaw confirm the failure of the Polish delegates to get into ■fouch with Moscow. Ho concludes by hoping that Kamenoff will see that immediate instructions aie issued for the' reception nnd passage through the lines to Minsk of the Polish peace and armistice delegation, and for Russian wireless stations to receive and transmit Polish messages without delay. Hon Lloyd George cannot help stating that this constant refusal to receive messages from Warsaw, while the Soviet army is steadily advancing, cannot fail to a'rouse justifiable' suspicion, and be nnconduetive to a prompt dud peaceful solution of the present Wfh '
