Senator .Tones addressed at Tacoma a meeting of shipping men, who protested against the Jones Shipping Act. He said the law will not be modified in any way unless the actual operations restilted in a positive tangible injury to American trade.
CHINESE CABINET
PEKIN, August 12
The new Cabinet is announced as follows:—Chin Yung Pen, Premier and Minister of War ; Doctor Yen, Foreign Affairs; Admiral Sasphpnping, Navy; Changchistan, Interior; Yehkungchew, communications; Wangnaiping, Commerce ; Echowtszchi, Finance ; Fanyuinlien, Education; Tungkang, Justice. The Cabinet comprises all the President’s personal friends except Wangnni ping, who is Changtsoliil s nominee. Foreign circles consider the selections satisfactory.
ALBANIAN DEMAND

The newspapers state Albania has sent mi ultimatum to Serbia demanding the immediate evacuation of Taraboseh and payment of six hundred thousand Francs,
UNREST IN ITALY.
LONDON, August 11. The London “Daily Chronicle’s” Milan correspondent reports an incendiary campaign on an unprecedented scale is proceeding in all parts of Italy. A large military powder magazine at Snngavaslo was blown up, shaking the whole city of Florence. Some bodies were hurled a mile away. Tile death roll is net yet ascertainable. Over a hundred were sent to the hospital.
Many were wounded by falling bombs. Many persons who were on fire in the streets saved theinselves by immersion in the public fountains,
' An attempt to blow up a magazine at Mugnano, in Tuscany by setting fire to some adjacent woods, failed. Armed bands assailed the magazines at Piacenza and Catania. Military were employed with machine j guns in a night long engagement driving off the attackers at daylight. Anarchists exploded bombs in several Mi- j Inn restaurants. • Four fires which, occurred in Genoa ' Parma, Trieste and Snnanonio, have caused a quarter of a million sterling damage, including much Government stores. i Other serious incendiary damage in North and South Island is reported, including eight outbreaks in eight neighbouring villages. All were visible simultaneously.
