FRANCE TO HELP WRANGEL.

LONDON, August 11
France’s recognition of the South Russian Government means the splitting of the Entente. It is reported Hon. Lloyd George refuses to be stampeded into a war by France, the latter having decided to give General Wrangel every material support, without waiting for.the result of the Russo-Polish negotiations. Radical Labour circles interpret the decision as a deliberate breach of the llythe agreement with a full appreciation of the consequences.
NEARING WARSAW
LONDON August 11
Advices from Germany state the Huesians are within twenty live miles of Warsaw. The Poles are enabled to offer serious resistance on only a part of the front.
POLISH STATEMENT
NEW YORK, August 11
The Polish Minister has issued a statement pointing out that the United States Note outlining the attitude towards Poland ,was construed to mean an extension of arms, supplies, and munitions to Poland ,and declai ing oland’s war was. not with the Russian people, but the Bolsheviks.
AMERICAN STATEMENT
NEW YORK, August 11
Washington in a. note to Italy revealed the American position in the RussoPolish situation. Secretary Colby said the Government approved of the efforts to arrange an armistice. It would regard with satisfaction a declaration by Allied and Associated Powers that the territorial integrity and true boundaries of Russia be respected. Government would not participate in the plan to expand the armistice into a general European Conference as that might involve two results from which the people of America strongly recoiled, the recognition of Bolshevism and settlement of Russian problems upon a basis of dismemberment of Russia. The Note says Americans are earnestly solicitous of the maintenance of Poland’s territorial integrity and political independence. Government will employ every means to render these effectual.
FRENCH INTENTION
PARIS, August 11
France has decided to recognise Wran trel’s Governent in south Russia, and will assist by all means except troops.
A POLISH MOVE
WASHINGTON, August 11
As a result of assurances in the American Note to Italy, the Polish Minister, Lubomirski, says Poland is about to ask immediate American aid in the form of an extension of credits for the purchase of war stocks.
