The Australian Red Cross has forwarded £70,000 worth of clothing etc. to distressed Poland, and accordingly gained representation on the International Red Cross League of London. Lady Helen Munro Ferguson is being appointed Australian representative. A CASE OELEBRE. SYDNEY, August 10. . There is much public interest ip the case of Sister Ligouri, a nun, who escaped from a Convent at Wagga. She was brought to Sydney where she took refuge in the house of a. Congregational Minister, until arrested under warrantissued at the instance of tho Roman Catholic Bishop of the Diocese, the information setting out that Bridget Partridge, otherwise Sister Ligouri, was a person deemed insane, and without sufficient means of support. The Court remanded her for seven days to a. reception house for export medical observation. The Court was densely crowded, Protestant organisations taking a prominent part in the case.
