Tho “Times” takes a serious view of the situation, points out matters have drifted so far that it is militarily impossible to save Warsaw. Reports of advisers alone can show whether Poland can be saved. It is impossible to dispatch troops via Danzig. There remains the blockade which moved most slowly at tho beginning of the war. The French were convinced of the reality of the Russo-German understanding. Therein lies the next danger. The “Times” editorially urges Hon Lloyd George to place the whole facts frankly and quickly before the nation, expressing the immensity, significance and vastness of the issues at stake.
FRENCH OPINION. LONDON, August 8
A Paris correspondent sums up French opinion by saying that the coun try is weary of fighting. France needs external peace, but is prepared to struggle even more in order to secure peace and security. French opinion regards the establishment of a Soviet in Poland as a triumph for Germany.

The appeal ends “Hurry workmen, soldiers a peasants to join the world s revolutmn . to rid the world of capitalists and exploiters. ALLIES DESTROYING MUNITIONS. PARIS, August 9. Allied troops on the eastern Russian frontier are busily engaged destroying an accumulation of German war material and munitions, evidently with the intention of preventing them falling into the hands of the Bousheviks. Germans are complaining of the incessant explosions ajarmingthe population.
RUSSIAN WIRELESS. LONDON, Aug 9
A Russian wireless to Britain says Polish Government announces its j-padiness to send delegates to Minsk to ppnclude an armistice and peace preliminaries. The Bolshevik Government therefore expressed its belief that the object of the Allies, namely the cessation of hostilities and establishment of peaceful relations between Russia and Roland on a basis of the full independence of Poland will be attained, in the most speedy and way, through direct ' negotiations. The Bolshevik Government is of opinion the Allies will undoubtedly acknowledge their object will be fully covered by the impending Russo-Polisli conference at Minsk. The contents above noted are regarded as practically amounting to a rejection .of the Allied participation in Russo-Polish settlement.
