THE HYTHE CONFERENCE
LONDON, Aug 8,
The "Times” Hythe correspondent says: “The situation as to Russia and Poland is extremely grave. The Bolsheviks have sent the Allies an arrogant refusal to accept their demands. This can be taken to mean that the Russians intend to capture Warsaw and to establish a puppet Polisli Soviet, with which they may make whatever terms the Moscow Soviet desires.”
"In consequence of Russia’s unfavourable reply and of the attitude of the Bolsheviks, the conference of AngloFrench heads at Hythe has adjourned, but only after they referred tile whole matter to their naval and military advisers.” The conference will meet in the morning to receive the reply of the military men and will decide then on their course of action.
As a result of this grave development, M. Millerand has postponed his departure to France.
