ARAHURA FAT STOCK SALE
At the above yards yesterday the usual fortnightly fixture was held, the yarding comprising 60 head of South cattle and with one or two exceptions the pens were all prime cattle. Competition was exceedingly keen throughout the saje which can be classed as the dearest so far held this winter. Ox and cow beef was easily £3 10s a hundred, and in one or two .instances exceeded tins figure. Messrs Gibb Bros, cattle "Inch had been on the road several ays, were yarded in good condition and sold welj.
Messrs W. Jeffries a?id Cp. spld the following' lines: —On account Messrs Nolan and Heveldt 1 bullock at £ls ss, 2 at £l2 15s, 3 at £lO 7s 6d, 1 heifer at £ll 17s Cd, 3 at £9 15s, 1 steer at £9, and 1 cow at £7, Qn account Messrs Gibb Bros, 4 bullocks at £26 ss, 2 at £23, 4 at £2l 7s 6d, 3 at £2l 2s 6d, 4 at £2O 15s, 2at £2O, 4at £l9 ss. On account of Mr E. A. Gibb 3 bullocks at £22 15s, 2 at £22 10s, 2 at £lB 10s, 1 stag at £2l 15s, 1 cow at £lB 2s 6d. On account of C. H. aifd L. R, Gjbb 4 bullocks at £2l os, 3 heifers at £2l 17s 6d, and 2 up £2O.
Messrs M. Houston and Co report as follows : —AVe lieJ4 our usua} fortnightly fixture at the above yards yesterday there being a large attendance of’ buyers with the result that competition was very keen, prices of beef taking a sharp rise on tho previous Rule, reaching from 65s to 75s per hundred. The quality all round was excellent. We sold on account of Mr R. A. Harcourt jun., 4 bullocks at £26 17s 6d 4 at £27 15s, 5 at £27, 5 at £25 10s, 2 stags at £24, 1 heifer at £5 10s; on account of Diedrichs Estate, 2 bullocks at £22 12§ 6jJ, k; $ £22, 4 at £l7 7n 6d 4at £2O fOs, 2iieifprp at r £l2 7g (i/f.
