NEW GERMAN DEGREE. BERLIN, August 4. The German Reichstag has just passed a bill for disarming the civilian population of Germany. A COMMUNIST COUP. BERLIN, August 4. A Communist coup has occurred at Zitlau, which is now isolated by a general stoppage. The railways are stopped, and the shops remain closed. All work has ceaßed. The Government has ignored a demand that it should make way for a Soviet dictatorship. The Government sent an aeroplane which scattered notices telling the population that troops were being despatched to them. It is said that Trade Unionists are standing aloof from the Communists. GERMAN ORDER RESTORED. (Received this day at 9.30 a.m.) BERLIN, August 5. Authority lias been restored at Zittau. The coup failed through the apathy of the workers. A FRENCH MOVE. 'Received this day at ’9.20 a.m.) BERLIN, August 5. France’s determination to establish a. Legation in Munich is agitating Germans. The “Munehner Zeitujig’s” Berlin correspondent interviewed the British Embassy who said Great Britain was interested in German comments on the proposal, which was contrary ■to international diplomatic practice. Britain did not intend to appoint a Minister to Bavaria, but would do everything to secure German unity. Sfie would not support any separatist movement. A BUDAPEST REPORT. (Received this day at 9.30 a.m.) Amsterdam, Aug s. Advices from Budapest state a Hun-garian-Roumaninn offensive in favour of Poland is being prepared under French direction.
